About Hulah Valley (from Wikipedia):
The Hulah Valley or Hula Valley (in Hebrew: עמק החולה, `Emeq ha-Hūlāh) is an agricultural region in northern Israel with abundant fresh water.
Lake Hulah or Lake Hula (the Biblical Lake Merom) and its surrounding swamps were drained in the 1950s as an attempt to alter the environment to suit agricultural needs. Though initially perceived as a great national achievement for Israel, with time it became evident that the benefits from transforming the "wasteland" of Lake Hula and its swamps were limited. In the past few years, following nearly 50 years of an unsuccessful struggle to utilize the drained valley's resources, the Israeli government has finally recognized that successful development can endure only if a balanced compromise between nature and development is reached. Thus, a small section of the former lake and swamp region was recently reflooded in an attempt to prevent further soil deterioration and to revive the nearly extinct ecosystem.

Hello Shahar,
It looks like the Hulah Valley is regaining som of its ecological importance, judging by this fine pelican shot.
This is a fine sharp and well-presented capture and it is nice to be able to make out the Cranes that are part of a semi-blurry BG. If you could have cropped it without dividing a pelican this shot would have been perfect.
TFS and regards, Ivan
Hey Shahar!
Lovely take of these Pelicans, grouped maybe, but still individually taking care of their wings...
Colors are quite vibrant and appealing!
Your note is also very informative!
TFS!

Hi Shahar,
An excellent photo, great colors (P. onocrotalus is named also "pink pelican" in Danube Delta from Romania), the quiet of pelicans siesta and the beautiful background made a perfect shot. Danube Delta has the biggest pelican colony in Europe, but the crane is extinct.
Congratulation! Dan
