The lowest becoming lower

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth not covered by ice, is constantly falling. The Sea becoming smaller is easy to tell from the photo. The water level drops a meter per year. In 1993 it was 406 meters below the sea level, currently it is 419 meters!

A sobering image Pentti. In Australia, we've been in drought conditions for the last 8 years and this image is frightening! Still, I believe one of the important roles of photography is to dicument change in the natural world - sometimes a picture has so much more impact than words, but you've combined the two here to make a strong statement. The leading lines in the image draw you in , and your words make me think! Thank you and well done. John
Wow, that is amazing. Is it climate change or is the water being diverted for other uses? I guess the only constant in nature is change itself. The global changes are kind of scary though. I had no idea that the water in the Dead Sea was so beautiful.
