Narcissus
---------
A spring-flowering bulb, Narcissus is the name of a genus which includes flower bulbs like Daffodils, Jonquils, Paperwhites and so forth. Narcissi (plural form of Narcissus) are easily grown from bulbs. The word Narcissus is derived from the Greek word narke, meaning numbness or stupor. Some attribute the naming of the flower to its narcotic fragrance while others debate that it is associated with the poisonous nature of the Narcissus bulbs.

Narcissus is one of the most popular flowers in the world.

Hi David,
What a lovely capture of this Narcissus.
They looks like so delicate and fragil against that stone background.
You took good advantage of the excellent light and managed pretty well the whites in the exposition.
I like so much also the vertical composition.
Congratulations and thanks for share.
My best regards,
JM

Hi David,

You took this Narcissus flowers in November, here in Belgium are these flowers now be in bloom. This are the small type but very lovely for looking.

Have a nice weekend,
John.

Very good picture with very good tones, the rock behund is great.
You had a kuttle bit harsh light in this picture, you should try taking this picture with softer light, I think it would be beter.

p.s.

It is near my home... :)

Precioso ramillete de narcisos. Bellos colores y sencilla presentación. Muy buena esta imagen David.
Saludos, JL.

Hi David,
Beautiful photo of this Narcissus. We can see clearly the whole plant and you've got a great exposure everywhere, even in the white flowers. Stone as background works fine too!

Hi Dave,
Another nice capture. I really like the composition you have selected, showing us all the plant and it's habitat.
The light on the beautiful flowers is very nice and exposure is right on.

Hi David,
Very beautiful composition for this bouquet of Narcissus, illuminated by a wonderful light. Good to have them just in front of a stone.
best regards

It is truly a delight to see these lovely flowers in their natural habitat. Lovely to have the natural stone as a BG. I am curious about one thing though: your photo information indicates that this was taken on November 18, and your notes say that it is a spring flower (as it is when grown in canadian gardesn too). Can you enlightne me?
