Thanks to a TN member I now know that this decorative, blue-green plant, is Egyptian capers. It was growing in the dry soil in the rock city Petra, Jordan.

I don't know the name either, but the sandstone background contrasts well with the subject both in color and texture. Very good photo.

Hello Monica!
Very interesting and unusual composition! I really like this photo from Jordania. I must be great to be there!

Hi Monica,
Sorry I can't help with the plant ID. I do think it is an excellent compposition with the Red sand stone as a backround. Nice contrasting colors and fine detail.

Whatever the plant is called, it looks very good contrasting against the red earth. Well done Monica. TFS.

Very nice, it is Egyptian Caper (Capparis aegyptiaca). Thnaks, Ori

Hi Monica,
The combination of colors is beautiful here. I also like the framing where the lines in the rock give some depth in the image, like a perspective. Nice use of the 1/3 rule horizontally. You could have the plant in one third vertically as well, by off center it a bit, to give a perfectly composed image. Anyway, it's a nice subject.

Hello Monica, very interesting capture. I like the contraste between the red rock and the green plant(Capparis aegyptiaca, Thanks to fragman!!) . I know Petra , it's a splendid area. Look at Workshop, I tried to increase contraste and sharpness , I hope you like it! Congratulations Didier.
