Papaveracea

Probably a Papaver sp. but I don't think it's Papaver rhoeas, anyway it's a common wild flower, very abundant, especially at this time of year.

FYI : The flower is ~3-4 cm wide, the stem can reach up to ~45 cm long, the stem is hairless.

Photo taken at dawn in the Aammiq Wetland (West-Beqaa, Lebanon)

Hello Betty,
Great shot! I like the beads of water on the red petal. Good colour, detail and composition. TFS!

Hi Betty,
At first sight it is about a red poppy. This flower would be originating in Bulgaria or Turkey, but one found some already in the Egyptian tombs. Very abundant in the fields, the edges of ways or the waste grounds as from April. It is a plant dicotylédone of the family of the poppies.
Beautiful catch of sight and beautiful color.
Sylvie
