Asteraceae (Compositae)
Seems nearest to a Cirsium sp. but not quite.
Internet is so slow here, I gave up on checking photo databases; ID anyone? Ori, you must know :)
If you look closely, though the sepals are out of focus, you can still see that a spider was busy decorating them. |

I really like the colours and the main focus in this pic. If you could increase your dof a little it may help with the pic as a whole.

Hi Betty
Seems you find all these wonderful little plants. Well captured. The thistles is such a confusing group as there are so many of them that look so much alike and this one seems not completely opened yet. However, I was wondering if this is not maybe closer to a Silybum sp, but I'm no expert in this field so unfortunately I can not help any further.
Your composition is good having the flower slightly to the right. The colours are nice and exposure & lighting levels are quite fine. Slight pity that your DOF did not include the petals and the 4 thorny leaves as I think with a bit more detail there it might have improved the end result considerably, but that might have impacted on the OOF BG again.
Good work and TFS.

Very nice color. Little poor composition and confused background.
