BEE WOLF ON ROSEBUD

Here is another picture of this insect that continues to live in our little garden.
I have never seen it killing a bee, though. All it does is hover around, examine the earth here and there from time to time and then relax on a leaf or flower.
Here it is resting on a rosebud.
It was least disturbed while I went closer to take macro shots. The most cooperative subject I have ever shot :-).

For details on the insect, please refer to my previous posts of it.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hello Ram,
Excellent detail and a fine panoramic composition, which unusual in macro photography. Depth of field is well-controled as various parts of the leaf are in and out of focus. Regards,
Hakan

Congrats for you 401th Post. i thought everybody had congratulated on 400th,i will congratulate on 401th. Its different! :D
You have maintaind very very low DOF here wich is incredible. The details of wings are really nice though flash has caused some loss of details.TFS

Mahesh

I have not seen them kill a bee either...at least our variety which is know for such. I wonder when it does it's work....

A fine, sharp picture of what appears to be a bad boy bug...but in reality is just a part of the food chain as well as the protective chain of life.

A well composed image with lovely points of focus.

It's well lit and the colours warm and lush.

That's 401 then!

Hi Ram,
Splendid portrait of this Bee Wolf again. Nice colour tones and patterns on its body and those gorgeous eyes and crisp antennae are superbly presented. Excellent POV to illustrate its dorsal position and a neutral BG allowing the subject to stand out. Very nicely composed. Kudos.
TFS.

Wow! Excellent species Mr. Ram and nicely captured too. Just beautiful Composition. That upto on a rose bud. The focus is excellent. One question please Was there a low light situation because the tail part looks a bit burnt out. How about firing the flash to some reflector. Any way Once again a great capture. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Hi Ram,
Funny to read that this was the most cooperative subject you've ever shot. I always thought it were the magnificent mountains you photographed back in India. :)
A very wonderful photo with beautiful colors and details. The photo has a kind of 3D effect with the shallow DOF and light.
TFS,
Niek

Hi Ram,

It is so nice to have a cooperative suject - doesn't happen very often. Another outstanding macro with perfect details and colors. The position on the leaf is wonderful. I can hear you telling him to move over a little (smile).

Hi Ram.
What a nice macro shot. The reproduction of this insect is perfect as well as nice suitable horizontal cropping and composition. I also like light (I think flash light), well saturated colours and great sharpness of the insect image. My best wishes and TFS.
Alexei.

bonjour ram
le BG aurait merité un traitement a mon avis mais la netteté et les couleurs de l'abeille sont extra.
