Hi Ram,
A very clear shot of this damselfly from Riyadh. The focus is sharp right along the whole body which is good.
Colour and light are good too.
It looks exactly like the ones we have here in New Zealand.
Excellent work.

Hello Ram,
colours and outline of the damselfly are shown very clear. Geometric composition is pretty good. It's a pity that the tip of the abdomen is slightly cut.
Best wishes, Peter

Lovely capture of this Damselfly Ram. Details are pin sharp, i love the POV. The greens between the damselfly and the leaves seem to compliment each other against a good DOF. Great shot.

Hello Ram,
I'm really glad that you're finding some more wildlife in Riyadh and this shot is really brilliant! Razor sharp with great focus on the eyes and the colours are beautiful. The fill flash has worked really well here and the Damselfly looks lovely against the dark background. Beautiful composition. Congratulations!!
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

Hi Ram
Congratulations with your first bulbul, hoverfly, and of course this little beauty which seems to be a female March Bluetail - Ischnura senegalensis. The same species as the last damselfly I have posted here. In my notes I mentioned that the distribution range of this insect is: "Throughout Southern Africa and extends to equatorial Africa and India", so it is very possible that you could have found it in Saudi Arabia.
A great diagonal composition with lovely colours and excellent lighting. The details are very sharp and the dark BG does well to compliment the damselfly. The only slight nit might be the rather close crop at the bottom though.
Good work and TFS.
Regards
Loot
Hello Ram,
Congratulations both on capturing an Ischnura damselfly in Saudi Arabia and for such a fine shot.
This is sharp and with fine BG in a composition whose only slight defect is the close cropping at the bottom.
TFS and best wishes, Ivan

Hello Ram!
If it is really your first damselfly picture I have to say that it is really very good! Great details, interesting POV and nice, black BG.
The only thing I do not like is the fact that you did not keep on the picture the last segment of damselfly's abdomen.
Anyway, my best greetings and congratulation!

Hi Ram,
Excellent capture of the damselfly. Lovely colours and sharp details. Perfect lighting, POV and DOF. Though the cropping is a bit tight at the bottom the composition is nicely done. Kudos.
TFS.

Hello Ram,
Having been away, I missed some of your pictures. This shot of the Common Bluetail is wonderful, very sharp and with beautiful luminous colours. So you have quite a lot of different visitors in front of your house! I miss one of my favourite photos. Just disappeared :-( ??
Best regards
Anne

Hi Ram
This is a superb first shot of a damselfly from you!
It must be a blast finding your first ever one :) I sure remember which one was my first one :) (also an Ischnura)
The details and colors on this one are charming and well balanced and the DOF is impeccable - keeping all the damsel in full-focus and blurring the BG very nicely.
The exposure is also good and the POV is excellent.
The idea with a diagonal compo was very nice...to bad the tip of the tail is clipped :(
Anyway, Bravo and TFS

Hello Ram,
Indeed a very nice catch. It's interesting how similar are all those Ishnura species, despite the various geographical areas they live in.
Excellent light, focus and colours. The only small thing is that it would look better if frame was moved a bit lower.
Best greetings,
Michal

Hello Ram !
Your first damselfly looks great ! Sharpness, details, colors, composition, POV, BG... everything is just wonderful, and the damselfly is a real beauty. Just a tiny problem with the cut addomen, but I know how hard it can be to capture these creatures and it is not of big importance. I wish you many more successful days like this ! Very well done !
Valerie.

Hi Ram.
I congratulate you on such pleasant meeting. You have taken a very nice close-up shot. The sharpness and details of the insect as well as rich colours and perfect lighting are really great. Composition of the shot, pictured scenery (leaf with damselfly at FG and remote darkened BG) are excellent too. My best wishes and TFS.
Alexei.
