Trithemis aurora Male

I can't help going back to my theme on this good looking dragonfly I shot in Riyadh recently. I have a feeling that I have done reasonably well and so long as I have good images of this insect to share on TN, I would continue to post them.

So here is another image of the male Trithemis aurora from a different perspective altogether.
Hope you like it.

For a detailed note on this insect, kindly go to my previous posts of it.

Thanks for looking and have a great weekend.

Hi Ram,
This dragonfly has fantastic colors. POV and composition are great. Lovely blurred background that gives depth. Very well done and have a nice weekend.

Hi Ram,
What a really narrow dof your new camera has! The focus covers just the body, given an extreme sensation of concentration on it. Perfect pov, pose, colours and background.
TFS and best regards mf,
José M.

Hi Ram,

this is very interesting shot, were kind of looking through it's wing.
Beautiful colours in the body and those eyes are quite dazzling.
We don't too many up here, so it's nice to 'travel' around with you.

Gary

Hi Ram,
Good image; blurred wings are not distracting here.
Well composed.

Hi Ram,
I really love the color on this one. The background blending in so very nice. Love seeing this guy holding on to the stem he rests on. Great shot. TFS

Hola Ram,
Preciosa toma con buena definición y preciosos colores. Saludos
José Ramón

No wonder some of these have been related as angels...The wings are wonderful and with the red eyes, it appears that two objects compete for the center of attention. And the almost translucent quality to the body....I've never noticed that before. Of course when I am near a dragonfly, they are buzzing by me and rarely finding anything interesting to land on. Your patience is almost Buddhist.

Hi Ram,
Wonderful dragonfly. No doubt that you should feel proud of these shots. Lovely colours and sharpness. Perfect light management. I like your POV - you have captured a classical pose. The green BG presents a nice contrast. Very nicely composed. Kudos.

Hi Ram,

Lovely colors on this one. I like the position of the wings - a little different than in most pictures. Wonderful details and a nice bg.

Hi Ram,
Brilliant capture my friend.
Nice POV,blurry BG and colors are so fresh.
Hope to see more of your macros.

Hi Ram,
So this is how you should do it. I am making notes on the technical details and thinking of how I can come up with the patients. But first things first, I need to buy a macro lens. Did you use a tripod to make this photo? What kind of flash unit do you use?
Back to the wonderful photo. The detials are really wonderful, especially those on the head and wings. The OOF green BG helped to bring out the wonderful red color perfectly.

Niek

Hello Ram,
Even though the POV caused a wing to obscure the thorax, this is a fine viewpoint showing us good details of the rest of this dragonfly set against an excellent BG in a fine composition.
I wonder how the colour would have been without the flash? I know that flash helped to give you the sharpness, lighting and DOF, but I read somewhere that there is a risk for colour distortion when photographing dragonflies. Just wondering...
TFS and best wishes, Ivan

Hello Ram,
Another fine shot of this beauty in a classic pose. Beautiful pastel colours and sharp details. The background fits very nicely and I like your composition. I just wonder why one wing got so blurred - did the dragonfly or you move or was it the wind or were you too close?
Many thanks and best wishes, Ulla

A beautiful one, Ram,
I like the soft BG so much, nothing is disturbing from that beauty, thanks

Hola Ram.
Bellos colores los de esta libélula.
Perfecta presentación horizontal.
Mis respetos, JL.

Hello Ram,
a capture of exceptional beauty.
Exquisite colours, wonderful transparent light.
The stem of the plant, and legs, head and body of the dragonfly are in perfect focus.
These parts are beautifully set off from the soft background. The wings seem to vibrate.
The fresh green colours make the scene appear to be out of a paradise garden.
Adorable high quality image. Thank you!
With best regards,
Peter
