[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Friends, this is the second macro picture of a Flesh Fly's head and thorax I am presenting today.
If you look at my first picture here, you would notice that there is a difference in the details, shapes and even colours between the specimen photographer earlier and this one.

I enjoyed using my macro lens on this easily available insect here. Hope you find it some interest.

Regards to all.

Hello Ram
Very nice closeup. I like the orange devilish eyes. I only regret that the DOF is not better
Best wishes
Krzysztof

A lovely macro Ram.
You've definitely caught the best features of this fly in good detail and colour.
I think a lower POV with the whole fly in frame might have looked better though.
Still a great shot.
Cheers,Steve

Hi Ram!

I am starting to see an attraction to similar color in other of your photos. In this one it makes the picture stare right back at you through the pixels. They say music is not music until it is played. Perhaps this is the same for this fly. While you can capture a big part of it to share, as I do at times with words, in our photos, the sheer enjoyment comes from the actual sighting and hence imprinted in your head with countless pixels.

Hello Ram,
After doing as you suggested and comparing this with the first Orange Eyes, I have reached the conclusion that they must be the same species, but the small differences indicate two different individuals. The diffences in colour may be due a lot of factors, including light, POV, distance etc.
Once again a fine sharp macro of this fly.
TFS and best wishes, Ivan

Hi Ram,
Wonderful close-up shot of the Flesh Fly. Lovely red coloured eyes and sharp details. Perfect lighting and a nice POV. More than the macro lens the photographer's skill is important and you have done immense justice to your new equioment. Very nicely composed. Kudos.

Hello Ram,
Remarkable focus job with such shallow depth of field. Those eyes are amazing. Flash exposure looks good. Was this the built-in flash, or external unit? Regards,
Hakan

Hi Ram

Another really close macro shot and one with excellent details.
It's really amazing to see a fly's eyes so vividly colored. I wonder why they are like that? Or is there no real reason...
Anyway, your photo is excellent, with great DOF, taken from a very good upper POV and with an impeccable usage of the flash.

Bravo and TFS
Horia
