[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
There lived a family of bees in one of the trees in our compound. They had a fairly large hive high up in one of the date palm trees.
Now they are gone.

In the first week of April this year, they were still there and visited our little garden to fly around in search of pollen or drink water from the dripping hose pipe. I noticed some of them even cutting bits of fresh tender leaves of rose plants and fly away with them. I have seen leaf-cutter ants, but seeing bees cutting leaves was a new experience for me. I wonder what they do with those bits of a rose leaf.

Anyway, I shot this picture of two bees lining up to enter the depths of a red rose in search of pollen, but, as my friend Ivan had mentioned in his critique on another bee picture from me against the backdrop of a red rose, there was nothing much to be gained from a rose. So he had aptly described that bee as a "Bee in the Red" :-).
Today I present two of them.

Hello Ram
Busy little bees in the pink labirynth. Interesting summer photo.
Best wishes
Krzysztof

Absolutely beautiful! Stunning photo with brilliant colours. I’ll be honest to tell you that this amazing colour of the flower attracted me more than the bees. I saw it as pink but after reading your notes it seems like I am colourblind because you make mention of a red rose. Amazing! Thanks for sharing and the interesting note.
If you where thinking of returning a smiley to me, please have a look at some of these members portfolios. It cannot be missed. Maybe you have seen some of them, maybe not. There are so many but I include only a few links.

I personally think some of these shots deserve a big smiley and because you cannot award your points to me, (look at my intro page for the reason) you might consider to give them to one of these members beautiful photos.

Just remember that 2 pairs of eyes, see things totally different, and you might disagree with my choice, and think I am cuckoos. Writing critiques is a learning school for me, and because I am not a photographer I do not see and look for finer details like you guys. So if you received a smiley from me, it is because I just LOVED what I saw, and it is much appreciated.

Regards
Aaltjie

Hello Ram,
Beautiful colors and sharp focus in this lovely composition. We have leaf-cutter bees in Canada that use the leaf fibre to build thier nests, maybe this is what you witnessed.
Rick

Very interesting. I have a picture of one today on my website, which a friend from Grand Forks BC took. I will have to show him this picture to give him some practical advice. His name is Ron Rattray and he is a constant source of pictures from just above the border from our old cabin by 10 miles.

I'm always glad to see bees, while it frightens me that so many are disappearing for an unknown reason. Saudi seems to have an abundance of creatures, some common and others not. You have been there for quite a while and it appears you are closer to KFC than I am....I take mental notes:-)

Hello Ram!

Hypnotic colours :-) These two bees are detailed, sharp and captured in interesting poses. But flower is main star here :-) Just lovely.

Hi Ram,

Wonderful capture of these bees on the rose. The rose looks very pink on my monitor. The bees stand out sharply with wonderful details. I haven't seen a bee yet this season. They are disappearing in the US and the experts don't know why.

Hello Ram,
The red of the rose is striking, making the two bees a relief for the eyes. That they are sharp and well presented makes it all the better.

Una escena muy delicada, con unos colores intensos pero muy bien saturados.
Perfectos detalles los de las abejas, que en todo momento destacan sobre la rosa.
Un saludo, JL.

Hi Ram,
Amazing shot of these two busy looking bees. Rich colours and very sharp details. The rose looks gorgeous and presents a fine contrasting BG. I like your POV as also your interesting note. We keep on learning new things about nature every day. Very nicely composed. Kudos.

Hello Ram,
Amazing picture indeed. You observe your environnement well. I never had seen bees cutting rose leafs, but it makes a very nice story. Adanac's suggestion makes sense. The picture with this fine red appears somehow unreal.I like it.
Thank's and best regards
Anne
