JUST A BEE WOLF

Friends, here is a fresh image of the Bee Wolf I shot yesterday.
Without going into further controversy whether this is a Philanthus diadema or a Philanthus triangulum, I present this insect from a diffrent perspective this time.

This insect is very active in our little garden these days. Actually there are two of them. They suddenly seem to be very interested in the soil these days, scraping, scratching or digging it. I caught one of them just taking a respite from the activity and perching on the vertical stem of a plant. Only one picture which I am posting today. I present the picture as it was shot without rotating it.

For further details on the ID of this insect, please go to my previous posting here.

After removing background noise by using NeatImage, I then cropped the image to suit the requirements on TN.

For enjoying the full image without scrolling the screen, please hit F11.

Thanks for looking and regards to all.

Hola Ram,
Excelente la imagen que nos presentas, la nitidez y detalles son extraordinarios, quizá el formato le quedase mejor horizontal, pero sigue siendo una gran imagen por la riqueza de detalles. Un cordial saludo
José Ramón

Very nice colorful macro image Ram.
Sharpness is very good and details are wonderful.
Composition imho would have been better with a little more space on the right or a little less space on the left side.
The bee wolf is a bit to much centered in the frame.
Best regards, Harry

Hello Ram,
Superb macro of this Bee Wolf in a very fine composition. Nice colours and details are very sharp and that eye enormous!! I like the soft contrasting background. (I see that you now use NeatImage which is very useful at times!)
Many thanks and all the best, Ulla

Hello Ram,
I see a fine close-up with good details!
Colours are eye-catching with the bright shining yellow, and I'm sure nature had a purpose with that too...
Well composed presentation, strong diagonal works well!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hello Ram
I like very much this bee of yours! It seems rather strange to me, for I see it has an eye very similar to some butterflies, don't you think it? Also I like its antenae and the deep color of his abdomen and legs.
An excellent capture with great sharpness, DOF and composition.
Thank you very much for sharing.
Greetings
Maite

bonjour ram
tres bonne qualité d'image, une vue plus de face nous aurait montré d'avantage les yeux mais ce n'est deja pas mal comme cela.
bravo.

He looks as though he were clinging to the stem because it is his first gym class and his footing is unsure. He may be simple but you add to the curiosity and answer it with notes. Side view is well defined and again your notes make no further questions necessary.

He sticks out well as does the stem, with a subdued background making him the point of focus. As common or simple as he may be there...the same is not true for where I live now...Perhaps he is one that the US has pesticided out in their hurry to be number one in agriculture..."Kill selective nature for money and greed." What a motto. Kind of like saying "collateral damage" to make vague attempt in justifying spraying. But that is another story. Today is yours.

Hi Ram,

I recognised this chap by his stripey clothes.

An interesting angle to shot him from, it's kind of all bottom!
Super clarity and very fine detail.

Hi Ram,
Awesome macro shot. Such bright colours and perfect natural lighting. Those eyes are gorgeous and scary. Excellent POV to catch it resting, looking downwards. I like the diagonal composition and the smooth BG. Kudos.
TFS.

Hello Ram,
Another fine shot of a Bee Wolf, this time letting us observe the enormous compound eye, much larger in proportion compäred with other wasp species.
Excellent sharp, well composed and detailed shot well set against a pleasing neutral BG.
TFS and best wishes, Ivan

Hi Ram,

This is really something when you enlarge the picture. Fantastic macro. Excellent composition, colors, details, bg. I love the way you caught him traveling down the almost diagonal leaf.

Hi Ram.
I like your macro works so much and this one too. Very attractive insect and perfect its reproduction. Dof is selected perfectly. Colours are rich and nice. Inclined stem with insect on it creates a very impressive composition. Lighting is great too. Skillfully done shot. My compliments and TFS.

Wow, a clear and superb macro shot with an excellen PoV sir.
The good lights have clearly highlighted the body of the Bee Woif and its eyes look bland jellylike ..more like the kind of eye sometimes certain fishes have.
A very interesting composition.

Thakur Saab, this is just one compliment but hats off to you for all your work. simply awesome. One small thing though; i would like it if you change your mugshot to one with a little more eye contact..
