ABANDONED HOME

Friends, a swarm of bees lived in this tree in our compound for many years.
Finally, they abandoned their home in the first week of May this year.
God knows where they have gone. Maybe there was nothing left for them to survive on.
I shot this picture of the empty honeycomb this morning using my new tripod for the first time.
It somehow feels sad to see the bees gone.

I have posted another picture in the Workshop of the same homeycomb when the bees were still there. It was taken in April of this year, maybe a week or two before they left.

How interesting. We have a bee missing problem here in the US. I see more of them this year than in the past 5 years. I hope this is a good sign for us. Loosing our bees would surely devastate our countries food supply and economy as well.

Your new tripod works well...and I like the earth tones you have created here...as well as succinct and informative notes. We shall hope they are not a warning...

Hi Ram

A very timely shot - I saw a report on the news yesterday about a mystery disease which has wiped out millions of bees. In some areas of the USA where commercial hives are used to pollinate crops 85% have died. Your bees may have moved, but the disease is global apparently . . .

Nice shot with great colours and detail.

Ram Sir sometimes i wonder why people dont look such pictures. Even I love them. It is something like you live in a house and then you vacate. Its a pity. but thats what life is about. Nature.

Hi Ram,
Feels sad to see an abondoned house anytime. The usual hustle and bustle is missing and the whole lot of activity which goes on is sadly missed. Quite mysterious how they have all forsaken this hive and have definitely started a new one somewhere else. Probably they did get a hint of your coming back to India and have left your house in grief and protest. Good luck with your new tripod.
