Hi Ram,
High impact shot of this roach! After reading your note, one can understand how strong this insect is! Clearly you have taught us that brain is not importat to life, at least as a roach!
TFS and best regards, José M.

Notes are very useful as marked. The picture sticks right out because of its cammo of color. If it were not for the ability to identify some flower parts, I would have thought it on a red velvet background setting.
Certainly color and notes combine to make the roach a bit more understandable, yet my feelings for them remain.

Hi Ram,
Wonderful macro of a roach - aaaaaaagh, six inches long? Your notes were fascinating but I have no desire to meet one of these. Shows up well on the red flower but what is he doing on a flower??? Very interesting post.

Hi Ram,
Wow.......how much closer can you go? This is a real illustration of excellence here and good use of equipment. Superb macro with vibrant colours. Neat, sharp and gorgeous. Very educative note to understand this species and demonstrate its qualities (sic!). Very nicely composed. Kudos.

Hello Ram,
Are you trying to frighten us? Not me, I had a pretty big one in my bed in a hotel room in Delhi! Lucky I'm not particularly scared of insects!! Amazing macro you're showing us here - how big is this specimen? (But - I might be scared if I met one without a head!!)
WHatever happens to this planet these will no doubt survive!
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

Hello Ram,
Nice note describing this primaeval insect and a good shot of the head and thorax with good lighting from the flash. Cockroaches are not that common in Sweden, though there is a small forest species that is civilised enough to stick to the forest and not intrude into our homes.
I think the scientific name for your subject is Blatta orientalis: this I remember from over 50 years ago at school when we dissected them as typical for the structure of an insect.
TFS and have a good week,
Ivan
