This is a rather original image that represents a good counterpoint. Clever composition in what you decided to include. Technically very good, though I would probably stop down more for depth of field.

Fine composition with a fitting title, Ram!
The sprouting leaf is full of vitality, and though the limb is mutilated the shot shows that it has retained its strength.
You could also use Tennyson for that aspect.

Helo SIr,
This is the nature at its best. It teaches usto rise from the ashes. In India, farmers do have this practice, They grow up the tree nearby their farm, cut down for their personal use like farming tools or fuel. But The trees grow up in next mansoon.
I likethe composition showing the new born leaf and a cut on tree. Very well though capture TFS

Very meaningful picture.good lighting and good coloura too. i think it would have looked nicer if you had included the origin of the new shoots too. may be it was impossible to frame it that way. anyway the photo along with the note is very touching.

Hi Ram,
Different sensitivities see things in quite different and sometimes opposite ways. Same things happens here, where someone cut a big tree to allow one more car to park or the avoid fallen leaves cleaning.
A happy photo of this fresh, young leaf. Colours and composition are excellent.
