Anemone coronaria (poppy anemone, Spanish marigold, "dağ lalesi" in Turkish, "Kalanit" in Hebrew) is a species of flowering plant in the genus Anemone, native to the Mediterranean region.

It is a herbaceous perennial plant growing to 20-40 cm tall (rarely to 60 cm), with a basal rosette of a few leaves, the leaves with three leaflets, each leaflet deeply lobed. The flowers are borne singly on a tall stem with a whorl of small leaves just below the flower; the flower is 3-8 cm diameter, with 5-8 red, white or blue petal-like tepals.

Düğünçiçeğigiller familyasından endemik olmayan, 30 cm'ye kadar boylanabilen çok yıllık bitkilerdir. Taban yaprakları üçlü şekilde birleşik, her biri saplı ve çok parçaya bölünmüş şekilde, dikdörtgenimsidir. Çiçekler bir adettir. Tepaller 5-6 adet, ters yumurtamsı, kırmızı, pembe, menekşe moru veya beyaz renklidir. Yetişme ortamı Marmara, Ege, Karadeniz ve Akdeniz bölgelerindeki deniz seviyesi ile 900 m'ler arasındaki çalılıklar, yamaçlar veya çayırlıklardır.

A beautiful close up quite in concordance with the wintery conditions Mehmet, good exposure and a nice composition indeed!

caspian, excellent capture of this ice covered plant. It looks sad in its present state, but without a doubt it will recover after the ice and snow melt and once again become an upright beautiful bloom. A+ in my opinion.

Anemon Latince Rüzgar; coron ise taç demek:) rüzgarda özellikle hareketine istinaden verilmiş. Yunan Mitolojisindeki Rüzgar tanrısı Anemone'den geliyor yani. Ben aslında bu çiçeğe "Rüzgar Gülü" ismini daha çok yakıştırıyorum.
