A landscape from my birding field
I love the way these hills turn to red & orange and gold by the sunset. This image was taken at 19:20pm, colors are natural (no saturation or contrast added), I used a circular polarizer.

*Lake Bafa lying today in the foothills of the Besparmak (or Latmos as called in the Ancient times) mountains, was originally part of the Aegean Sea. It formed the easternmost, backwards portion of the Gulf Of Latmos, whose entrance was controlled by the city of Miletus. The Hellenistic town of Herakleia-on-Latmos and its predecessor town of Latmos as well as Miletus’s port-city of Ioniapolis were located at the end of the gulf. In the course of the centuries this portion of the gulf was filled with silt carried by the Meander River and consequently cut off from the sea and turned into landlocked lake. This process began in the 3rd century AC and continued over a considerable period. As recently as the late Middle Ages a channel still existed, connecting the mediterranean and the lake.

Lake is surrounded by the Latmos Mountains(Turkish: "Besparmak") which rise up to 1400 meters.

These mountains in the hinterland of the westcoast of Turkey near Milet were one of the holy mountains of Asia Minor. On his peak, which - because of his rounded form- is called in Turkey Tekerlekdag (wheelmountain), has probably from neolithic times on been worshipped the god of weather and rain of Asia Minor. This tradition in cult lasted till the Byzantine Middle Ages. These strange rock formations have inspired humans since the Stone Age to believe that fabulous creatures and gods reside here.

A very nice image Selen, beautiful warm light and colour. Good DOF and great detail throughout. I like the effect brought about by the wide-angle lens, it really brings the foreground out. Well framed, nothing I could do to improve this. Kind regards, Adrian

Stunning landscape, Selen.
The light here is fabulous. It makes the rocky earth glow radiantly.
The overcast sky contrasts beautifully with the earth.
The pool in the foreground with weeds and reflections of rocks on it adds great beauty to the composition.

Ah! You have photographed one of my favourite places along Lake Bafa, recently called "Çamiçi Lake", somehow a name I can not accept easily. The red-shifted lights of the setting sun finely illuminates those wonderful rocky formations and the Juncus plants in warm colours, tandemly warming our hearts. Thank you indeed for this nice scene Selen, would love to see a photo of the unique "Sanctuary of Endymion" in Herakleia from you, under similar conditions.
