Telescopus fallax (Common Cat Snake or Cat-eyed Snake) [in Turk. Kedi Gözlü Yılan]

Today, another portrait shot of this elegant, good climber -to trees- but predominantly terrestrial -not arboreal- snake from different POV with its semi-sticked out tongue.

Yesterday, Ingrid (ingridshaul) has asked me some questions on the nomination differences of the snake genera, how can count the head plates and my photographing site. I think that i replied her some questions under her beautiful Eagle Owl shot. The nomination differences (English ones) is a common issue as is in all taxa since these names generally based on the geographical location and human culture where the animal lived. Therefore, our scientists generally prefer to use their scientific names in all cases. On the counting scales/plates, you have to look from a proper POV Ingrid:) May be this POV is better for counting the symmetric head plates. However, if you wish to count the body scales, especially around the mid-body ones which are very important pholidotic (scale/plate features) characteristics in classification of snakes, may be you need use a stereo-microscope since these ones are very small. Hope these info for useful for you MF!

With this explanation, I would like to dedicate this elegant, predominantly terrestrial (not arboreal) beauty to Ingrid in thanks for her kind interest to my shots and her meticulous comments/critiques! Hope you like this tribute MF!

TFL and Have a nice day!
Cheers,

Hello Bayram
Thanks
Livio
