Certhia familiaris Orman Tırmaşıkkuşu [TR], Treecreeper [EN] is a small passerine bird with 12 cm in lenght and it is a member of the family CERTHIDAE as like Certhia brachydactyla - Bahçe Tırmaşıkkuşu [TR], Short-toed Treecreeper [EN], which the family is represented in Turkiye by the two species.
C. familiaris is truely a forest bird and it is rarely seen far away from tree trunks or branches. It creeps over tree bark such as a crawling mouse and it climbs swirl on trunk.
Its dorsum is mottled brown; but venter is white. Eyebrow is distinctive. Its bill is slender and slightly curved down and it is relatively shorter than one of C. brachydactyla. But later species has shorter toes' nails ("brachy dactyla"= "short finger").
The bird sings with voice ‘srriiiii’, as like whistle, a spectacular ending to a song is as sweet and playful.
C. familiaris's populations are divided into several subspecies. Of these, C. f. persica ranges in Turkiye and N Iran.

Good pov, dof with natural colours.
I have beeen this specie several times but not one good picture.

Hi Ahmet,

You captured a beauty!! I love the looks of this bird and the wonderful position he is in on the tree. This Treekeeper has a beautiful eye, lovely feathers and plumage. The colors and details are excellent. A fantastic composition as he plays hide and seek on the tree.
