Zygaena (Zygaena) filipendulae (Linnaeus, 1758) - Altıbenekli Guve [TR], Six-spotted Burnet [EN] (LEPIDOPTERA: ZYGAENIDAE) is a common moth species, flying day-time, in Turkiye and other parts of Palaearctic Regions. The family Zygaenidae consists of about 1000 species. They mostly live in tropical regions. Some of them also occurs in Turkiye. Z. filipendulae ranges mainly in Northeastern Anatolia. This species is interesting with very short flying period and it is one day.
Turkish and English vernacular names means that its six red spots on dark dorsal side of its wings. Species name (filipendulae) refers its long antennae.

The shot was taken at the entrance (after Giresun) of Dereli District by camera on hand. It was a bit rainy. Everywhere was green, even, in August althought Global Warming, which effectes in most parts of Turkiye. I hope you will enjoy to visit it.
Best wishes
Ayşegül.
