Hello my friends,
Green is alternatif name for Karadeniz [Black Sea] Region. Almost everywhere is green. Even if in end of summer. The shot has heavily green tones. It was taken in my village in August. I captured it along a small creck under dark shadow of long trees in very humid zone. So, flash was fired. Then RAW was changed to JPEG format.

Calopteryx virgo (Linnaeus, 1758) - Güzel Subakiresi [TR], Beautiful Demoiselle [EN] (ODONATA: CALOPTERYGIDAE) is one of the about 110 dragonfly and damselfly species in Turkiye. It is also one of the best ones of damselflies. Already derivatio nominis of the species name marked this beauty; calo "beautiful" and pteryx, pteros "wing" in old Greek. But virgo in species name refers in Latin to "a marriageable girl, maiden". So, the names "Kızböceği" or "Su Bakiresi" are used in Turkish, instead of "Damselfly".
This is female and it roosted on top of the plant of the genus Urtica. The populations in Eastern Karadeniz [Black Sea] coasts belong to C. v. feminalis Bartenef, 1910. The subspecies C. v. festiva (Brullé 1832) represents those in other part of Turkiye.
Much cropping version can be seen as a Workshop.

As most of you know, we used to write post cards and letters formerly. After electronic posts, shortly internet, we forgat letters and post cards. They were used to celebrate and transport news between people such as close friends and family members and others. Now, all good things went to history.
I wrote several words to remember this culture.
Several hours later, a great day will starts for all muslims. This important day is religious holiday. We say "Ramazan Bayramı" for it in Turkish and it will go on for three days. I'd like to celebrate this festival of muslims with my e-card.
Lastly, by English, Arabic and Turkish words; Have a nice eid-ul fitr, eid'ul ramadan karim, bayramınız kutlu olsun.

Hello Ahmet,

You are showing a fine photo of this damselfly in very nice light. The brown wings as well as the metalic torax look great. Image has a very good sharpness as you have chosen a good DOF keeping the whole insect in focus.

Hello Ahmet,
you show a well composed picture with respect to colours, geometry and display window.
Details of virgo are nicely presented and colours look very natural.
The background is a bit noisy and shows some artefacts of image processing.

Hi Ahmet,

I know I wrote this before but it seems to have disappeared. I am having lots of trouble with TN today. The green leaves and the green bush are a lovely setting for this beautiful dragonfly. The irridescent colors are magnificent and the wings look scattered with fairy dust. Excellent colors, details and pose. The composition is superb. I appreciate the workshop - good to see it more closeup.
