Hello my friends,
For several days, I will break down my new shots. I prefer mostly to post different species, beacuse of that showing biodiversity. Today, I send a duck species from Zonguldak. This is Mergus albellus - Sutlabi [TR], Smew [EN] and it is a marine duck. M. albellus is arctic species and mainly ranges in northern parts of Eurasia, namely subarctic and tundra regions. In winter, it migrates to countries in the south, especially Englad, Germany and Baltic Countries. Also it can be seen in Black Sea [Karadeniz] and some inland waters of Turkiye, e.g. Hirfanlı Dam Lake in Central Anatolia. But our visitors are mostly female smews. We see males rarely.
This duck feeds on fishes.

The shot was taken in Filyos River Delta in Sazköy, which is important bird area near Zonguldak and more than 170 bird species occur in there. My special thanks to Mustafa Erturhan (demokritos) for his hospitality.
Dedication to my friend Razvan Zinica (zetu) from Romania.

Hi Ahmet,

This duck looks so graceful with the wings in such a wonderful position. Fine colors and details of the wings, head and body. I never realized that there were so many different species.

Jane

A magic moment in the sky, Dr Ahmet.
You have captured this bird in flight in an elegant posture.
The presentation is highly aesthetical and beautiful to look at.
regards,
Ram

Hello Ahmet,
Very good action shot, the light and colors are very nice. POV and sharpness is right on with just the right amount of motion blur.

Günaydin Ahmet!
A very fine in-flight capture of a female M. albellus, taken from a great POV with excellent timing and panning technique in a well composed image against the blue sky.
This species spends the winter with us but are very shy and the ice is often too extensive for us to approach them when they are in the water.
Well done MF!
Thanks for sharing this fine image,
Eline saglik,
Ivan

Hi Ahmet.
Nice in-flight shot of the cute duck. I like impressive, a bit back POV and wonderful wingspread of the bird. Exposure if great and your managed to reflect contrast colouration of the duck perfectly. I also like how well you have reproduced colour tones of the sky. Non-centered composition is very attractive. My compliments and best wishes.
Alexei.
