[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The genus Hypericum is called as "Binbirdelik Otu" [thousand and one pored herb] in Turkish. In English, it commonly called hypericum, and some are known as tutsan, appears to be a corruption of toute saine literally meaning all-healthy. This is probably in reference to its healing properties. The leaves are used applied to wounds, and as a stomachich. Additional information can be found in Wikipedia.

This genus is a group of annual or perennial herbeceous plants, from 5-10 cm shrub to 12 m small tree. It consists of about 400 flowering plant species.
According to TUBIVES data, 76 species, with 91 taxa ranges in Turkiye. I have seen some species of this group, especially in Black Sea [Karadeniz] Region in Turkiye. I also meet them other parts of the country. They occur mainly forest banks.
Today, you will see Hypericum androsaemum (MALPIGHIALES: CLUSIACEAE or GUTTIFERAE) from Zonguldak Prov. This is perennial plant in shrub form, with a lenght of 25-130 cm.
Flowering time is June to July. It prefers forest banks and riverine habitat. It is an Euro-Siberian element and ranges in W, S Europe, the Caucasus, N Iran, W Syria, NW Africa. It is also found in N, S & E Turkiye (Bolu, Bursa, Erzurum, Giresun, Hatay, Kastamonu, Kırklareli, Rize, Samsun, Sinop prov.).
