Hi Akif,

Very good capture of Sand Martin in flight. You have managed to get very close as you only had 300mm lens. Very good sharp details, good composition, lighting and colours.

TFS

Hi Akif

Wow, I mean really WOW. This is just great Mr. Raptorman. I truly don't know how you people (in flight photographers) manage to get this kind of shots. Definitely these are no luck shots, but for the death of me I still cannot figure out how it's done without buckets full of luck. Please don't misunderstand me as I am sure you would want to correct me by saying that there is no luck involved as you plan your shots and work hard to obtain them. I would only answer to the affirmative as I would be 100% in agreement with you. I don't mean luck in the sense of it was pure luck that you just pressed the button and by chance got such a shot, but luck in the sense that the bird was there and you have the equipment, time, skill, and patience to work at it and when all comes together the luck (or call it good fortune) is yours to capture such amazing shot.

This shot has great detail and no wonder for a shutter speed of 1/3158 of a second (where did the camera get that from?) is absolutely user friendly to ensure there was no camera movement and to get all the crisp features of the birds plumage and underwing. The backlight of course enhances the wings even more and created highlights of light all along the edges of the wings and the bird's profile. The exposure was well controlled as the contrast in the shadows and highlights areas are well balanced.

Well done and TFS.
Regards
Loot

Hi Akif. This is a fantastic in flight shot of the Sand martin . Your camera speed had given fine detail in the wings and head. natural colours. spot on timing from you in this one. TFS.
