[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I came back to Nigde yesterday for a long time. My last day in field went with a very bad experience in 2200 m elevation of Dogu Beyazıt. All traps were stolen unfortunately. Ferhat and me returned, worrying. In that day, I captured only this species in there. Carduelis carduelis – Saka [TR], Goldfinch [EN] is one of six species of the genus Carduelis Brisson, 1760 (PASSERIFORMES: FRINGILLIDAE). Other species are;
*** Carduelis chloris (Linnaeus, 1758) – Florya [TR], Greenfinch [EN],
*** Carduelis cannabina (Linnaeus, 1758) - Ketenkuşu [TR], Eurasian Linnet [EN],
*** Carduelis spinus (Linnaeus, 1758) – Karabaşlı İskete [TR], Siskin [EN],
*** Carduelis flavirostris (Linnaeus, 1758) – Sarıgagalı Ketenkuşu [TR], Twite [EN],
*** Carduelis flammea (Linnaeus, 1758) – Huş İsketesi, Kuzey Ketenkuşu [TR], Redpoll [EN].

Of these, I have posted only two shot for C. cannabina. One from Jordan (photo 1) was the first post on TN. Second one was from Turkiye (photo 2).

C. carduelis is actually more colorful passerine bird. But one on this post was a immature. Later its face will become red and head in black. This gave me great shots and I could get closer up to 2-3 m. Unfortunately, light was contrast. I hope you will like it.

I am sorry to hear about the bad experience and that your equipment was stolen during your trip. Something like that always put a damper on ones mood, I am however appreciative that after all you where able to present us with a beauty image of a Goldfinch. You have photographed this one with great focus, great sharpness and great style. I like the small patch of yellow feathers in between the others and it displays well. Thanks for sharing this lovely close-up in spite of your loss.

What a cute juvenile Goldfinch you managed to catch at so nice position. Great details of the image and wonderful composition. I like fine BG and pleasant true summer and Southern (well known for me) colour palette. Well done and TFS.

A delightful capture of a juvenile Goldfinch. I like the pose an POV that you have taken with good sharpness against a contrasting neutral BG. This, together with the lighting and composition have msde it an excellent image.
