Merops persicus
This bird species is really very rare in Turkey and recorden only from three provinces in Turkey (Iğdır, Şanlıurfa and Mersin). I was around Iğdır for a few days twoo weeks ago. We are lucky that can see this beautiful bird and took some photos.

Lucky you once again! This is splendid photography. The colours and sharp details captured here is really special. It is such a gorgeous bird. I especially like how the blue colour in the face is divided by the green stripe through the eye. The red eye is seen so beautifully against your plain coloured background. Great photography!
