"Octopus vulgaris
The octopus, which is also called "devilfish," is a predatory mollusc with a pouch-shaped body and eight powerful arms with two rows of suction discs on each. It also has an ink sac, which it uses to darken the water when it senses danger. "
We had a visitor for a few hours this summer. At first I thought the octopus was either sick or wounded. It moved very little and very slowly, did not respond to anything we offered. after lounging for a while at the shore ( the water is ankle deep where it's swimming) Tsuddenly the octopus just gathered the arms took a rocket like shape and swam away with a rocketlike speed. |

Hi, very interesting photo. Think the wide apeture has reduced sharpness and DOF though.
