Lasiommata megera

The Wall is aptly named after its habit of basking on walls, rocks, and stony places. The delicately patterned light brown undersides provide good camouflage against a stony or sandy surface. In hot weather, males patrol fast and low over the ground, seeking out females. In cooler weather, they will bask in sunny spots and fly up to intercept females, or to drive off other males
Extends across most of Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East, between 33 °N and 55 °N, and into southern Scandinavia. The range appears to be expanding northwards in Europe, although declines have been reported in several countries

Hello Ridvan,
your picture shows the fiery and vivid orange-brown of the butterfly very well. This vivid colour is typical for mediterranean populations of Pararge aegeria. The species occurs also in the vicinity of my home, but the orange-brown is replaced by a pale yellow in our northern specimens.
Best wishes, Peter

Merhaba Rıdvan bey,
üst kısımdaki kanat uçları net alan dışında kalsa da, renklerdeki canlılığı ve pozlamasıyla çok başarılı bir fotoğraf.
Ellerinize sağlık, selamlar..

Hi Ridvan

A very beautiful butterfly capture taken from an interesitng POV.
Usually we see a different angle, but this is refreshingly original :)
The details and nice and the colors are lovely, but the DOF is a bit too shallow and makes the tips of the wings a little blurry.
Anyway, a nice catch!

Bravo and TFS
Horia
