İri, yelpaze kuyruklu ve şakıyıcı bir kuştur. Baş ya da kuyruk deseniyle hemen tanınır. Zarif ve uzun gagalı bir bülbülü andırır. Gözünün üzerinde açık renk belirgin bir çizgi vardır. Kuyruğu uzun, kızıl ve kamalı, kuyruk ucu siyah-beyaz beneklidir ve uçuş sırasında çok göze çarpar. Kuyruğunu çoğu kez kalkık ve açık tutar.

Güneydoğu Avrupa ve Asya'daki kuşların daha canlı kahverengi arkaları vardır, batı formu soluktur. Batı Avrupa’dakilerin renkleri soluk turuncu – kirli sarı kuyrukları ise parlak kızıldır, güneydoğu Avrupa kuşlarının sırtları ve kuyrukları kahverengi, kuyruk sokumları ise kızıldır.

The Rufous Bush Robin (Cercotrichas galactotes), also called the Rufous-tailed Scrub Robin or Rufous Bush Chat, is a small member of the flycatchers. It breeds around the Mediterranean and east to Pakistan. It also breeds south of the Sahara from the Sahel region east to Somalia; these birds are sometimes considered to be a separate species, African Scrub Robin (C. minor). It is partially migratory, wintering in east Africa and India. This is a very rare visitor to northern Europe.

This is a bird of dry open country with bushes and shrubs. It builds its nest in a bush; three to five eggs is a typical clutch.

The Rufous Bush Robin is larger than the European Robin. It has brown upper parts, whitish under parts, and a prominent whitish eye-stripe. The western race has a paler, warmer brown back than birds in southeast Europe and Asia.

The long rufous tail is frequently fanned, showing the black and white tips of the tail feathers. All plumages are similar.

These birds feed on insects mostly caught on the ground. Their clear thrush-like song has a sad tone.

This is one of the best shots of this species that I have seen!

Hi Huseyin. i missed this beauty the other day. This is such a fine close up of the Bush Robin. I do like the pose with the tail held hight in the air. Taken with fine detai land natural colours in the feathers. Stands out so well from the BG. well done TFS.

Thanks for sharing this lovely image, as part of a dedication to one of Trek Natures gentlemen Peter van Zoest. The details and prominent features captured on this Rufous Bush Robin is really beautiful. The brownish colours on the body’s plumage, in contrast with the white of the bottom feathers are really beautiful. It is such an elegant bird, with neat feathers. I also like the two coloured beak.
