Dear friends, today another shot of the same well-camouflaged Wolf Spider (family Lycosidae) which i uploaded yesterday in its natural environment. As i mentioned before, it was photographed near the Turkish-Syrian border in Kilis province (the west of SE Anatolia). However I do not have the exact id of this medium-sized (approx. 2.5 cm) spider so i will be happy if my TN friends or others can update me on the exact name.

Have a nice New week and TFL!
Cheers,

Bayram

Wolf spiders are are robust and agile hunters, and have good eyesight. They live mostly solitary lives and hunt alone. Some are opportunistic wanderer hunters, pouncing upon prey as they find it or chasing it over short distances. Others lie in wait for passing prey, often from or near the mouth of a burrow.

Hi Bayram!

Your series about this spider is very interesting. The pictures reveal all the details of this insect and show it in its natural environment. Indeed, also the camouflage of the spider is well shown here. Many thanks for this interesting posting.

Hi Bayram,

Another excellent image of this wolf spider in natural habitat. I like the look at those eyes with pleasing shallow depth. The vegetation adds perspective to the framing.

Hello Bayram !
Ahn here you have this beautiful (or rather ugly, for me :-) spider again ! Just like your orevious picture, this one is excellent on all points, and I like the low POV showing the spider from a different angle. I can also see how well hr camouflage works, brown on brown, I suppose it must have been hard to see...
Very well done my friend !
Valérie.

Merhaba Bayram,
Another wonderful capture of the wolf spider, with very fine details. Great focus on it. Superb lighting.

Görüşürüz! ;)
Pierre

It sounds a bit frightening...I wonder if it is dangerous to humans? It looks a bit like what I call a Hobo...but I could be wrong on two counts...but I had some in my wilderness cabin that look very much like this one..and then again I had Black Widows 10 feet from my bed.

Merhaba Bayram,
really a guy who can camouflaged very very well. The stripes and colours are so useful in hiding, i bet it hides to spring onto its prey rather than to hide from something else.

regards,
Foozi

I am sorry I'm being very short, my dearest bro, but life is such at this point in time.
Love this shot for everything!
Cheers!
