Acanthodactylus boskianus euphraticus (Euphrates Boskian Lizard)

In Turkey, this species is represented with a small population in Birecik (Sanliurfa), SE Anatolia and it is threat in extinction since their habitats were damaged by some human activities, such as dam and motorway constructions. This photographed was taken during the our herpetological trips to that region to rediscover of the species in last year, October of 2007.

to show us this rare species of Acanthodactylus. And the picture shows so many details that identification is certainly possible. I did'nt know of the existence of this species at all, and here on TN I can learn about it. Excellent photography, and a good note, too. Thank you, Deniz.

What a wonderful little lizard! I love the way his legs are wrapped around the fingers. (your fingers?) Excellent colors and wonderful details of the skin, legs, and head. I'm not so sure I would pick one up!

We see two objects in this picture, one the reptiel "Acanthodactylus boskianus euphraticus" but also very well the fingers and the nails of the model.
Sharpnees and clarity are very well.

This is a superb shot of the lizard.
The details of his highly patterned and coloureed skin are very good.

What a cute little lizard. Sad to hear it may become extinct. Nice sharp details and good colour.

Where I live we have Salamanders. The government build an underpass for the Salamanders to migrate through. Normally many would be killed by cars and trucks. The underpass is really helping.
