Değerli dostlar sizlerle ilginç bitkiler paylaşmaya devam ediyorum. Fotoğraftaki bitki yaprakları yada bir dal ucu koparılınca beyazımsı hafif yoğun bir sıvı akıntısı meydana getiriyor. Bu da bir tür sütleğen (Euphorbia) olduğunu ispatlıyor.

Alm. Wolfsmilch, Euphorbie (f), Fr. Euphorbe (f), İng. Euphorbia. Familyası: Sütleğengiller (Euphorbiaceae). Türkiyede yetiştiği yerler: Hemen hemen her yerde.
Bir veya çok yıllık süt taşıyan bitkiler. Gövdeleri silindir şeklindedir. Yaprakları basit ve karşılıklıdır. Çiçek çok indirgenmiştir. Çiçek örtüsü yoktur. Çiçek durumu şemsiye şeklindedir. Meyveleri üç tohumlu yuvarlak bir kapsül tipindedir. Memleketimizde 65 kadar türü bulunur.
Kullanıldığı yerler: Tohumlarında yağ; süt (lateks)ünde reçine, kauçuk, zamk, nişasta, tanen, fermentler ve anorganik tuzlar bulunur. Tohumlarından elde edilen yağ tahriş edici olup, müshil etkilidir. Sütü halk arasında “birkaç damla” müshil olarak kullanılır. Fakat yüksek dozda zehirlidir. Sütü ve tohumları bâzı yerlerde tatlı su balıklarını avlamakta kullanılır.
