I think this is a Marsh Tit (Parus palustris). I am not sure though...
The story of this shot is very funny for me:
I was walking in a thick beech (fagus orientalis) forest on the first day of 2008. I suddenly heard the sound of a woodpecker and tryed to follow it and capture the woodpecker which turned out to be an almost impossible job. The bird was always too far away from me and I could only take shots where one can barely see the bird.
But again suddenly, I heard the tapping noise of the woodpecker right above my head. I got excited and thought that it was a perfect opportunity, a woodpecker should be right above me. Guess what I saw when I lifted up my eyes? This little fellow was so playfully tapping on the branches and making the noise. Is it a normal behavior for tits or was she (or he) imitating the woodpecker? I don't know but it made me laugh, and she (or he) posed nicely.
Hope you like it. |
