Merhaba Ahmet,
An excellent close portrait of the European Glass lizard and a great WS showing the whole body. Both are technically superb and well composed.
It is great to see these images: I has seen a large one briefly in Lesbos a couple of years ago but never had the chance to photograph it.
I hope you had a successful trip to Cyprus and that you were able to take some pictures.
Thanks for sharing these fine images.
Best wishes to you and your family,
Ivan

Hi Ahmet, wonderful shot of my fav. subject my friend! You captured it in well conditions. It would be beter to mention that the grooves -which has not got any dermal bony plates apart from the other body parts- on the body sides which they serve as respiration facilitative structures since these lizards has bony plates (osteoderm) embeded in their skin. The other subject is that the all Turkish population of the species are not only belong to a single subspecies, O. a. thracius. The animals from N and E Anatolia are belongs to the nominate race, O. a. apodus my friend! I am sure you can see these infos in our book (Budak & Göçmen, 2005) which we have sent you [this book also is exist in my web side as a PDF -open access-]. Anyway, your capture is excellent in all ways. TFS. Cheers,
Bayram

Very excellent work Ahmet, both in this shot and in the workshop. I continue to be amazed at the diversity of life seen on this site, this one just adds to that. The detail seen here is very excellent, looking at his eye and even down to each one of his scales. You have very good exposure providing this excellent detail, and very good colour of this legless lizard.
Thanks, John

What a weird lizard! We have Slow Worms here but atleast the head matches that of the body, this one looks like someone crudely stuck a lizards head onto a glossy tube :-)
Very finely detailed with great sharpness.
Nice composition and an effective close crop.
It's very useful being able to see the whole body in the WS too.
Well done and thankyou for sharing this!
Joe
