This might be the very first post on TN for 2009. You are way ahead of me - it is 3:30 on the 31st here. A lovely Coal Tit for the New Year. I love the pose looking down at the branch. Beautiful colors and details of the face, wings and plumage. I agree - let's hope 2009 will be a better year!

Did you swap the Canon 600mm for the Sigma 300-800mm?
This is a very nice shot of this Coal Tit!

This is a fantastic capture of this small tit.
It is very similar to the black capped chickadee.
Excellent light and rich natural colours.
The POV is wonderful with very good DOF.
The OOF BG has a lovely bokeh.

Wow! This must be my 1st view of a product of 300-800mm lens! That must be expensive glass.

AT FL600mm, the focus sharpness and resolution looks good for this capture of the bird. Extremely fine bokeh effect!

What I like best of this shot must be the light falling on the bird, giving up the exposure for f/stop and speed. At ISO640, the noise level is surprisingly good.

Very good selection of POV for the bird perched on isolated branch without any distraction. Good work.

I can imagine the lens must be heavy.

Happy double New Year to you and your family. I did not bring my camera to Haram and no internet access as well. My images posted this year were from my archived. The groups in brownish grey suits in Haram are distinctively Turkeye.
:-)

This is really good sharp capture of the bird exposing the plumage really well. The muted background is perfectly executed, Well done and all the best.
