Isn't a moth! Its a butterfly!
The specie is a Carcharodus alceae (Esper, 1780), from the Hesperiidae Pyrginae family.
Very common in Portugal.
Know as Mallow Skipper in english.
The photo shows an old individual, with broken wings.

Poor old fella! He's looking aged and ragged Chris! He's a little soft too, but you do show his colours off well. Good pose.
Hello CT!
İnteresting capture. It's a little soft but well composed.
TFS...:-)

Nice, lively, well composed picture of the Malvae Skipper, battered from life. Well composed. With your picture showing goods contrasts, too, I thought to try out a little workshop to improve the soft focus.
Thank you for sharing. This one goes straight into my virtual skipper collection :). Thanks to Paulo (phlr) for the ID, too. Skippers are hard to identify.
Best regards,
Peter
