This photo was taken two weeks ago at Mersin. Have a nice and sunny day. This bird is an ADA MARTISI( Audouin's Gull)

Audouin's Gull (Larus audouinii) is the only gull occurring only in the Mediterranean. At a first glance, it looks like a common species of gull, Yellow-legged Gull (Larus cachinnans), having a white body and grey wings with black tips. However, it is a bit smaller (50 cm), its bill is red, its feet are dark and on air it is slimmer and more delicate.

Like most seabirds, our knowledge for Audouin's Gull is focused around breeding period. Breeding populations have been recorded in Algeria, Cyprus, France, Greece, Italy, Morocco, Spain, Tunisia and Turkey(Karaburun,Bodum,Datça,ve Mersin). Nesting sites of the species vary, but most of them are located in isolated sparsely vegetated islets.

Audouin's Gulls appear at nesting sites from late March to early April. They lay 2-3 eggs and their incubation lasts for three weeks. Eggs are hatched in mid May and nestlings remain in nest for a few days. Juveniles, having a brown-grey plumage, fledge after 30-35 days and from mid July, adult and juvenile birds, abandon the colony. At winter, the species spreads mainly on the southern and eastern coasts of the Mediterranean.

Very nice portrait.I liked POV,cross framing
and composition a lot.It's a little out of focus

Hi there Ali, good catch of the Audouin's Gull. It is a bit soft, but I do like his song. The colours are good. TFS

Its a nice close up, good detail in the whites. Just a tip, when editing your shot, use the eliptical tool, circle the eye so that it is selected, then drop shadows by 50%. This will bring in more eye detail by removing shadows created by the shot.

Your pictures are amazing to be visible superiority of mirror over my compact apparatus. Alone I tried approaches sea-gull in order to to make her shot ale zoom my was weak for and they scared away.

Interessant cette image avec l'aspect de fondu en arriere plan. Jaime bien la position du sujet qui semble s'etre arrêté pour la pose. On voit bien les ombrage dans le plumage. Merci pour l'envoi.

That is a nice close up.I like the crop and the DOF. I see the D70 has dust on the sensor. Using the bandaid tool in Photoshop gets rid of it.Or a trip to the dealer for a cleaning.Typical problem with D70, especially when newer.

This Gull's portrait is nice. For me Gull is a funny bird ;-) Perhaps the focus is a bit perfectible but it is pleasant to see. I also appreciate the complementary note.

It is a beautiful and strong composition. I like the tight crop and moody atmosphere, and aprreciate the effort on the note. Preffer this to the workshop.
I think focus could be improved.

ALI, focus seems to be a little bit soft, but this is a nice capture anyway.

Hi Ali,
It's a good closeup with a nice open-beak pose. I like the POV also. Just a bit soft-focused is all. Well done.

Gulls, those thiefs that bomb you at the beach! The bane of sun bathers on California beaches. This one looks a bit sad. I miss them!

Good portrait, crit: too soft on focus. One of my biggest problems too, still trying to master the digital thing, but anyway. Also feel your signature is too heavyu on the frame. Still good work and take care
