A colourful shore fly

Actocetor indicus Wiedemann 1824 (= margaritatus Wiedemann 1830) (Ephydridae, Discomyzinae, Discomyzini).
Size 2.5 to 3mm. It was one of my first finds during my recent trip to Turkey. The fly was running shortly before sunset on fine sand under a Styrax officinalis tree, continually rotating its wings. In my opinion, this is one of the most spectacular representatives of this family, and it's also the only Palearctic species of this genus. I know little about its habits, but in Africa these flies were reared from damaged egg pods of desert grasshoppers. |

Hi From Turkiye.Good shoot.But it's head isn't clear.i prefer it was clear.
Hello Dmitry,
Sharply focused on the body with all details clearly seen. Head and wings a bit out of focus. May be you were on the trip and no time to correct. Well seen picture and TFS.
