[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This was an attempt to catch the star trails around the Polaris- The North Star...

It has a quite funny story, during my last short visit to Bafa Lake,my plan was to test the new lenses and also take a star trail shot with canon ef 10-22 mm (my attempts around Ankara are always a failure as there is always a high light pollution around the city). I even brought a star map with me to find the exact places of the stars. However, -I'm ashamed to say this :o))-, I couldn't find the Polaris in Bafa Lake, it's probably because of the high Besparmak (Latmos) Mountain in the north direction, just behind the Kapikiri Village. I have stayed outside for hours looking at my star map and the sky over and over again, then I decided to give a short try for something which I assumed that could be the Polaris, set up the camera in the bulb mode and exposed for 15 minutes, my plan was that at least I could see something that stands still and that would be the Polaris, but as you can see from this shot all of the stars were moving and there was no north star over there :o)) I also used the noise reduction for long exposures which takes an extra 15 minutes, and did not give another try as I couldn't find the Polaris. And ended up with this photo which was a lousy attempt :o)

İlginç bir çalışma eline saglık Selen iyi seneler dilerim

Merhaba Selen nice shot I've got this lens too its great and very sharp. Nice star trails and exposure. Looks like Constellation Orion nice point of view and shows how the trail transition seperates the northern and southern hemisphere by the tracks of the stars. Well done I love the dark skies of Turkiye wish I could take my telescope there but its too big. Would look better pointed away from street lights though. TFS tebrikler Selam Necip.

Güzel bir çalışma olmuş.Yıldızların hareketlerinin çekim teknikleri ile ilgili naturescapes.net de bilgiler vardı,biraz inceledim ama tatbik etmesi Istabbulda güç gibi gelmişti bana.İlk denemen olmasına rağmen neticesi çok etkileyici.Bol fotgraflı,sağlıklı ve başarılı bir yıl diliyorum.Selamlar...

Hello Selen!

My favourite subject :-) With long exposure time and very wide lens it looks great! Star trails are very well visible and trees/houses made good composition with sky. I hope this isn't your last try on this field! Great note also. Small tip - if you want to try even longer exposures use some kind of filter, even hand made, like piece of smoked glass or magnetic disk from diskette.

Merhabalar,
Çok başarılı bir uzun pozlama - yıldız fotografı olmuş. Tam ortadaki takım yıldız Orion gibi geldi bana, sağ omuzdaki kırmızıya çalan yıldız da Betelgeuse olmalı bu durumda.
İlgimi çeken, 15 dakikalık bir pozlamada sokak lambasının ve benzer elektrik kaynaklı ışıkların filmde aşırı bir etki yaratmaması. Bunu nasıl başardınız?
