Glareola pratincola (Tr. Bataklık kırlangıcı, En. Collared Pratincole)

Yesterday My friends Tuncer Tozsin and Murat Soydaş went to Filyos area for bird photography. I called him at the and of the day to learn what birds they see and take. They told me that they see Collared Pratincole, and it was only one single specimen. This was the first record of the stecies from Zonguldak and I never seen it before. Today early morning I went again directly to the same area hoping to see the bird. I dvire there for about two hours and did not see the bird. I decided to go back, but after check seeside for some water birds. While coming back to my car I suddenly saw it very close to me. I could not belive my eyes. It was really Collared Pratincole. I lied down on the ground and started to crawl toward the bird and take a lot of photos. It flied and go about 50 meters away. Go there and take again. In such a way I captured more than 400 photos. It was really amazing for me.

Hello Mustafa,
A superb close portrait of a Collard Pratincole. The crawling on your belly was really worth the effort to get close enough to take such a sharp shot from a fine low POV and an excellent contrasting OOF Bg.
Thanks for sharing this marvellous shot, one for my favorites!
