Hi Ori,
very nice contrast of white against the greyish earth. The yellow stamens are lively and seen with details.

Excellent macro of this Colchicum, very similar there are also by us, it is Colchicum autumnale.

Hi Ori,
This is a very attractive example of Colchicum and reminds me of Colchicum autumnale, which I have seen in Autumn in the European Alps- just as pale coloured as yours. I remember them as quite small approx 12 cm but do not recall having seen leaves.

I like the details of the dainty petals in your photo; do the leaves appear later or before the blossom? Is your variety also poisonous as as the C. auumnale (Herbst Zeitlose),which is used for Homeopathic remedies.
I am glad, you show in your photo the type of ground, where they grow; most instructive.

You must have been on your knees for this close-up.
