The perfect symmetry of this palm leaf caught my eye and I clambered up a ladder (left by the grape pickers) to capture it. My hosts were hugely amused at my enthusiasm, since the palm is quite ordinary to them. The things those foreigners do, they must have thought.
Did you know:
Palm trees are native to warm areas, such as moist areas in deserts and many tropical areas. Although palm trees grow quite large they are actually more related to grass, onions, and agave than they are to most other trees. This is because they are monocots, as opposed to hardwoods (dicots) or conifers (gymnosperms).

Hi Silke,
Here in Spain we have palm trees too. This species have a great radial symmetry very eye-catching. The composition is appropriate for this symmetry and the color is as the real one.
