Long Legs

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
“Long Legs” is the name of this photograph and it was taken today using a 250 Canon close-up filter. It was very difficult to get the proper depth of field. This close of filter is difficult to get used to or master. Practice makes perfect but I have a long ways to go.
I took around ten shots trying to get some sharpness. This is the best one I could get.
The photograph was cropped, level adjusted, smart sharpened and saved for the web.
P.S. The proper identification of this insect eludes me. A search on the internet was of no help |

hello Jim,
I'm amazed about the colour of this spider. Nice to see it on this yellow flower.I have seen one very similar, but just in dark tones in Valais.
Thanks and best regards
Anne
Hello Jim and welcome on TN :)
I have to say that as a zoologist and nature lover I like a lot to watch different creatures. And here there is one of very interesting invertebrate. It is really rarely presented on TN (maybe because it is also difficult to photograph or maybe just not so colourful?). So bravo for showing uncomercial picture :) I also like the colouration f this photo - different tones make a really interesting climat here.
Bravo and TFS!
Radomir
PS. this is not an insect but arachnid, member of order Opiliones
Indeed :
6 legs --> Insect
8 legs --> arachnids
Most arachnids are spiders (body in 2 parts). This one is an opiliones (body in 1 part)
We have many of them here but in grey. I'm so surprised to see them in violet! Much more colorful. Interesting
