Glaucous Gull
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
“Glaucous Gull” is the name of this photo. From my reading, this immature gull (first winter) is difficult to identify and any help would be greatly appreciated.
In terms of size, this creature is very large, the size of greater black-back gull.
This photo was taken at St. John’s harbor near the narrows. It was cropped, level adjusted, and saved for the web. |

Buen encuadre y pose del ave. Dificultad en la toma por el colorido del plumaje. Ligero desenfoque en la parte anterior del ave.
Saludos Jim.

Hi Jim,
Great timing catching this gull in mid-cry, beak open, neck pulled back.
The details on this immature gull are fantastic, very sharp and colorful and intricate.
Maybe a tad more contrast would bring out the colors more.
