[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This morning those two moth were waiting for me in the garden.
The second one I did not even see until later, as the big one captured my total attention.

Big Poplar Sphinx..its the biggest moth I ever seen in my garden.

based on the size of the nail that is a big moth. i'd lighten the image a bit but a nice capture

Good to see two moths within the single frame. Sky.
The one with its wings spread open exhibits its salient features well through this well controlled shot.
An expert should be able to ID it for you.
Best regards.

It looks very big indeed Sky. I can't help with ID but I know that this is a very nice capture, sharp and well exposed. I think that those insects look good :-) Thanks,
Claudine

Hi Sky,
Splendid shot of these moths. Natural earth colours and immaculate sharpness. Very interesting looking wings and the sheen on them looks glorious. Perfect natural lighting and POV. Very nicely composed. Kudos.
TFS.

Always difficult in bright sunlight but exposure is spot on on the subject. Like the fact that there's 2 with differing profiles...kinda like you see them illustrated in books. Best, Brat.

Hello Sky,
Great details and fine textures!
I like the framing, and this little fellow shows us how good it is to sit in the morning sun, getting warmth back in the body after the chilly night...
A fine pictorial documentary!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hi Sky.
How well your moth harmonizes with wood fence. Great lighting, nice rich colours and perfect sharpness of the image. You managed to reflect all beauty of this insect greatly. Bravo and TFS.
Alexei.

Hi Sky,

Very good lighting and POV. I like it. Well done.

Hello Sky,
Excellent sharp capture of a species of Sphinx moth, probably the Poplar Sphinx, or closely related. It was presumably attracted to light during the night.
The second one looks like a caddis fly, but it's hard to tell.
TFS and best wishes, Ivan

Hello Sky,
This is a beautiful hawk moth that you captured. Markings on wings are clearly recorded. This one may be a noctural moth so morning is a good time to catch these moths as I did once recently. Very nice picture and tfs.

Hallo Sky,
Peter

P.S.: ID may be "Pachysphinx modesta (Harris, 1839)", Big Poplar Sphinx.
