Hawk- juvenile
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
I took this picture last weekend in Confederation Park – Hamilton. The bird was sitting on a top branch of a tall tree beside the path, enjoying the worm sunny day and totally ignoring the people passing by.
I’m not very sure what species this Hawk belongs to. Bobair posted recently a hawk (a very good picture) that look very similar. I will appreciate any help.
Thanks, Mario |

Hi Mario,
yes I did but in your photo you have a nicer blue sky than I had.I am not sure what type of hawk this one is and the feather leggings are longer than the ones on my mystery hawk.Beautifully detailed shot of this raptor with very good colour and focus and an excellent catch light in it's eye.Raptors sure are impressive looking birds don't you think.I like this one Mario and thanks for uploading it. Bob

Hello Mario, it looks like a juvenile Red-tailed Hawk (Buteo Jamaicensis) the same I posted 2 days ago. Very good shot, very sharp and clear and great composition against the blue sky, well done !
