Mario-

Beautiful shot of one of my favorite small birds. Are these Bohemian or Cedar waxwings? No red spot on the left wing of the right bird, so it seems like they are Bohemians.

Many years ago in Maryland I had two ornamental crabapple trees with fruits just like these overhanging my front walk. Every March a flock of several hundred cedar waxwings would arrive, eat all the berries from one tree, then move to the other tree. If we opened the door, the tree would explode with birds. They would fly across the street en masse, but filter back slowly as things got quiet again. After a few days of drunken rowdiness (you could smell the alcohol in the fermented fruits!) they would disappear until the next year, leaving us to clean up their mess. They were such fun to watch! Thanks for shaking loose those memories.

Bob
