A spring visitor in my back yard.

Fox Sparrow
Passerella iliaca

A large, boldly striped sparrow of scrubby boreal forest and mountain chaparral, the Fox Sparrow is most familiar as a migrant or wintering bird. Its vigorous "double-scratching," kicking backward in ground litter with both feet to uncover food, often draws attention to its presence under a bird feeder

Hello Mario,

A fox sparrow is a new one for me!
Its markings very closely resemble those of the dunnock.
Your focus is pin sharp, right on the head.
Excellent eye reflection, colour and pattern details, and well composed.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

YOU! You are the spring visitor...or have I been missing something. I am glad to see you superior images again Mario...This really brightens up my Sunday!

Nice side profile. I've never seen a fox sparrow before. I'm surprised at how close many sparrow's are in appearance to this one. Nice capture. Trevor
