[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I'm working on capturing Odonata on Manitoulin Island as with the controversial Ruby Meadowhawk which according to the list, does not exist on the island. I believe it does and saw what appeared to be a maturing male not quiet in full red, yet the face was not even close to white or red.
Back to this image, this is a Dot-tailed Whiteface found at a pond with 9 other species of odonata. I'm working on putting together a species I.D. found at Gordon's Park, Manitoulin Island, Ontario. So far, ten are found in the park. 7 were captured on cam, three more to get. The darners/hawkers are very difficult to capture as they are always on the move. I tip my hat to PDP/Paul who captures these very well.
Cheers, and thanks for looking.

Mike

Hi Mike,
Interesting and new species to me, one I haven't seen before on TN. You can even see the dot on the tail :) Luv that white face, set against the black eyes..
Good details and well done on the composition mf.

HI Mike,
I've never seen such a dark dragonfly, looking like wearing dark sunglasses.
And a funny white nose here, all dragons are so wonderful and special.
Thanks for this good and sharp shot, I like it

Hi Mike
Great work you've undertaken and excellent results to show. This is a very interesting darner, I mean hawker. Sorry, still wrong...then it must be a chaser (at least I'm sure it's not a damselfly or a mallard duck).
The composition is good and it shows the spot on the tail very well. Great colours, especially in the OOF BG with the warm red/brown tones and the details show up nice and sharp.
Good work and TFS.
Regards
Loot

Hi Mike,
Excellent capture! Nice warm colors and tones in this sunlight. Nice and sharp. Sounds like an ambitious and very needed undertaking. I'll probably need help with my next post, as it is again a dragonfly that I can't ID.
Well done!
Scott

Hi Mike

Wow... high quality shot. No nits here. Perfect work. :-)

WOW, If something like this landed on my shoulder I would be quite scared, even I knew there is no much risk.
It looks like "the ganster" of the dragonflyes :)
New species are always fresh and welcome. Nice shot, TFS.
