The Chameleon of the frog world in North America, Tetraploid Gray Treefrog.

This fella was sitting on a post in the neighbourhood of my Hoverflies. I didn't notice it until after a while capturing the flies.

Something unique about this creature, it has four sets chromosomes while all animals (diploid,) has two sets of chromosomes.
A variety of colors, brown, green, gray with irregular blotches. Usually forages in trees, but, can be seen on sides of buildings, windows and on the ground or like on this post where an abundant of food is to be eaten. Each Toe has a toe disc that helps in climbing.

Thanks for looking

Mike

I Mike, very nice shot of this strange subject. I did never hear about animals with 4 chromosomes.
Although it has a strange and fat look, it is quite beautiful.
Very well done on the lights, perfect texture. TFS.

Hi Mike!
Fat and well camouflaged :-) I think this is one of most self-complacent frogs I've ever seen :-) Superb subject and photo!

Well done, very nice capture,
Love the camo
Great sharpness and DOF, but maybe the POV could have been slightly more front-on, but that's just my preference.
Well done.

Very nice capture of this hylidae the pattern on these frogs are absolutely amazing. Nicely done Mike. :)
